I had been aware of him for years and have been interested in military technology and history most of my life, but for some reason, didn't start reading listening to his books until a couple years ago.

I started with Red Storm Rising (which was spectacular, in my opinion) and then moved on to the Jack Ryan universe. I'm just about finished with Debt of Honor .

Any other fans out there? Which novel is your favorite?

i am, owned all his books - however you screwd up the order of books

start with his first - Hunt for red octobetr and follow the characters linearly - jack ryan and john clark are recurring characters for liek 10 books in a row.

I've read most of his books, but I stopped after I read The Bear and The Dragon. I tried reading Red Rabbit which I think featured Jack Ryan Jr, and I just couldn't get into it.

My favorite of his novels are Without Remorse and Rainbow Six , because John Clark. My favorite Jack Ryan novel was Executive Orders .

Hunt for Red October, hands down. Clear and Present Danger is also really good.

Read all of the Jack Ryan books up through Debt of Honor. Read part of Executive Orders, but didn't get all the way through it.

Also read RSR, Without Remorse, and Rainbow Six. Without Remorse is my favorite of all of his books that I've read.

I should have clarified, after Red Storm Rising I started at the beginning of the Jack Ryan books. I did inadvertently skip over Red Rabbit, but I'll go back to it.

Clear and Present Danger, for sure. Sum of all Fears was really slow to get started, but the last 150 pages or so make up for everything.Looking forward to Rainbow 6. Clark is one bad dude.

I've heard there's a commentary on the Sum of All Fears movie, which is basically Drunk Tom shitting on everything.

Yeah, Sum of all Fears was awesome. I just finished it a few months ago and had seen the movie when it was in theaters. How the studio got away with that travesty of a motion picture is beyond me.

RSR is a favorite, but right now it might be Cardinal of the Kremlin in top spot. Without Remorse and R6 are also excellent.

Drunk Tom would still be incredibly detailed and accurate, just a little slurred. :)

Red Storm Rising was my first and is still my favorite. The details and the plot. I've also read Debt of Honor and Hunt for Red October.

Holy shit everyone should read Hunt for Red October.

I love his books, especially Rainbow Six. If you like him, you might also enjoy Vince Flynn.

I reread Red storm rising almost every year since I was around 12. I have been an avid reader of him for about 20 years now. His books really got me into Military things which led to be Enlisting in the US Army.

Clancy is great, I used to read his books regularly. My favorites were Without Remorse and Rainbow Six, largely because Clark and Chavez were my favorites of his characters.

I have read every one of his actual books, haven't done all the sub series.

One of my favorite authors of all time.

Without Remorse sticks out as one my favorites, not many would list it at the top of their list though. They are all great
